Alicia Dixon, our Premier Beauty Educator of the Month for May, talks about her favorite Keune color formulas and what she’s looking forward to in the future.
You’ve more than likely seen a few
blogs on our site by Alicia Dixon, Keune Educator and an Owner at Cellar Door Salon & Studio. She gives so much time and dedication to her position, going beyond the call to educate about haircolor, which is why Alicia is our May Premier Beauty Educator of the Month!
What made you chose Keune as the color line in your salon?
“It was kind of a no brainer for me. Aside from working for them for the past few years and seeing what a wonderful company it truly is, it's simply the best color I've ever used. Why would I ever change from that, ya know?”
What’s next after being chosen as The Colorist’s Top 30 Colorists Under 30?
“I'm in the mentee program for the Keune Advanced Academy in Atlanta! My hope after that is to become an academy trainer, as well as working at Cellar Door and doing field classes.”
Every colorist has their favorite formulas. What’s your favorite one?
• “This is so hard! For a toner on a level 7 blonde I really like 8.17 Light Ash Violet Blonde mixed with
6.1 Dark Ash Blonde in equal parts.”
• “I also LOVE 7.35 Medium Golden Mahogany Blonde, just in general and for anything: lowlights, toner and all-over work. It's beautiful and has that kind of cool warmth that's so in right now.”
• “10.2 Lightest Pearl Blonde will always have my heart for a true bright blonde toner.”
What is your favorite color trend happening right now?
“All the balayage and all the sort of darker multi-tonal blondes. I really gravitate toward realistic looking color that grows out nicely—it's better for your work as it walks around four weeks later and for the client’s maintenance.”
